Rebecca Grace Hutton, known to her friends as "Becca", had it instilled upon her from an early age that a little bit of elbow grease and a lot of hardwork was the recipe to success. Her father sold insurance and her mother was a hair dresser with a salon out of their home to accomodate for Becca's birth. When Becca was four, the family moved to Los Angeles to relocate and that's where Becca's life changed forever. She didn't know it at the time but big things were in store for her.

It started when her mother got a job at a high end salon when Becca was in elementary school and began rubbing elbows with the uppercrust of Los Angeles. Of course, a young Becca didn't realize how this would progress into being a big thing for the family as she was more concerned with visits from the tooth fairy and being a little daredevil on the playground. Eventually, her mother was offered a job to be a personal hair stylist for a B-list tv actress after her work at the salon was seen. Seeing it as a way to secure more money for the family, Sandra took the job and sometimes took Becca with her for gigs once her client warmed up to her. A curious child, Becca was endlessly fascinated and talked a mile a minute about how awesome it must have been to be on television and get to be in movies. The older woman noted to Becca's mother that Becca had "spunk" and a light about her.

Becca still remembers it like it was yesterday. "Hey kiddo, maybe one day, you'll be a star."

Not that Becca knew what that exactly entailed but it enticed her, nonetheless. She began hounding her mother about being a star as well as her father told her it took a lot of hard work to be in the entertainment industry. Undeterred, Becca declared at the age of ten that she was ready for the hardwork and she would do whatever it took and she wouldn't forget to do her homework. Thinking it was merely a phase, her parents caved and her mother asked her client for the names of reputable agents. Becca started booking commercial work until she got a recurring guest spot on a television show before it dried up two years later. It was then that she landed a pilot for a show called "State of Grace", sort of the female version of "The Wonder Years" and Becca dove head first into the role for three years until that show was cancelled and Becca mourned the loss of it. Becca learned that television work could be fickle at an early age but pressed on and landed the female lead in the Disney Channel show, "Phil of the Future" as well as scored her first movie role. Her time being a drone for Disney is something she doesn't look back on with any bit of fondness. As a maturing teenager, she wanted to take on more challenging roles in movies that she'd want to watch - not puff movies that tied things up with a nice little bow and morality lesson at the end. She declined to do anything more than voice work with Disney Channel after "Phil of the Future" ended its run and was absolutely delighted when the script for Superbad was in her hands. This was what real teenagers were like and she managed to make a good enough impression on Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg that she was cast as Rogen's underage girlfriend in the stoner comedy, Pineapple Express.

Her work on Superbad had her pegged as a rising star of sorts but it wasn't until Easy A that she truly broke through. Becca had been growing frustrated with the constant scripts with her playing the role of the high schooler when she was of college age but she took it in stride, waiting for the day that she'd look more mature for her age. Her agent initially suggested she go into read for the role of Rhiannon or Marianne but Becca put her foot down. The character of Olive was one of the better fleshed out female characters she'd seen in years and she was going to nail the part. She put together the best audition she could, busted her ass, and walked away with the part. The movie was a success, earning her a Golden Globe nomination as well as a hosting slot on "Saturday Night Live". For the first time, Becca finally felt like she hit the big time.

Of course, every career stalls and even the brightest stars get projects that are duds. She maintained a moderate amount of success and acclaim after Easy A, the doors opening for her to get her top pick of projects that she wanted to work on but the success of Easy A wasn't replicated until David O. Russell's American Hustle where she played the brash, young housewife named Rosalyn Rosenfeld. She was seen as an awards show darling, picking up a Golden Globe as well as her first Oscar nomination although the movie failed to get recognition in the form of statuettes on Oscar night. But things looked up once again for Becca when she was tapped to play Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad.

It was a dream come true for her at first. Becca had auditioned for her share of roles in superhero movies (Gwen Stacy, Scarlet Witch, Mystique...) but there was always someone better to fill the shoes. Becca did everything she could do get into the head of the Joker's girlfriend, reading the New 52 comics back to back and trying to perfect all of her mannerisms and accent. Once she stepped on set, Becca got cold feet and realized she was in over her head. Her confidence faltered at first until she remembered that many of the great comedic actors and actresses before her had dove head first into darker roles and she regained her footing. Now with other films either in post production or preproduction, Becca is still ready to take on the world with her can do attitude and hard work.
